Our legal bases for using your information

Under UK data protection law, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Contract: where we need your information to process an order, provide the app, or deliver the services you have asked for.
  • Legitimate interests: where we need your information to run, secure, improve, and support Pucksy in a reasonable and proportionate way.
  • Consent: where you choose to enable optional features that depend on permissions, such as certain notifications or location-based features.
  • Legal obligation: where we need to keep records or disclose information to comply with applicable law.

Shopify and other service providers

The Pucksy website is hosted on Shopify. Shopify helps us run the storefront, checkout, and order management parts of the site, and processes information needed to provide those services. We may also use service providers to help with functions such as app infrastructure, authentication, notifications, customer support, analytics, hosting, and delivery. Those providers process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their services to us.

Payments

Payments are processed through Shopify’s checkout and payment partners. We do not store full payment card details on our own systems.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for the store, checkout, security, and site functionality. Shopify and related services may also place cookies or similar tools to support these functions. If we introduce non-essential analytics or marketing cookies, we should update this policy and any related cookie controls accordingly.

Location data and device permissions

If you use app features such as Away Mode, Pucksy may process location information or saved home-location data so the feature can work as intended. If you enable notifications, Pucksy may process device token information to send those notifications. These features are optional and depend on the permissions you choose to grant on your device.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including to provide the website and app, maintain support and security records, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Different types of data may be kept for different periods depending on why they are needed.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

  • Shopify and other service providers that help us operate the website, checkout, app, hosting, sync, notifications, and support;
  • delivery or fulfilment partners where needed to ship orders;
  • professional advisers or authorities where required to protect our rights, investigate fraud or misuse, or comply with the law.

International transfers

Some of the services we use may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we expect appropriate safeguards to be used in line with applicable data protection law.

Your rights

Depending on your circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • ask for access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate information;
  • ask us to delete information in certain situations;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information;
  • object to certain uses of your information;
  • ask for a copy of certain information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please use the contact form on the support page. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your information has been handled.

Children’s privacy

Pucksy is not intentionally aimed at children. If you believe personal information has been provided by a child inappropriately, please contact us and we will review the issue.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website, app, legal obligations, or how Pucksy works. When we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
